  UNCLE SAMS RELEASE

The Thousand mile strain

The inbred and line bred family of the Uncle Sam racing pigeon will be auctioned on-line later this year. http://www.onlinepigeonauctions.com.au/cgi-bin/auction.pl

This dominant and sprint to distance performance pool of genes of Uncle Sam in these pigeons has been maintained since 1900 to date forming the inbred and line bred descendants to the 1945/47 line bred grand sons and a granddaughter of Uncle Sam 1916. There are no modern European imported pigeons in this family.

The completely documented two dominant lines in the breeding program were the Noel Randall and the O' Toole brothers.

There are subsets of the Uncle Sam Noel Randalls such as the Balf, Bob Wotton, John Noack, Ted Lewis, Ron Scott lines and the O'Toole family as the Hacking and O'Sullivan and Neil Mortimer.

The digital documentation of sales and breeding charts and programmes are to be found at the above Australian pigeon catalogues and these along with other records will be supplied with each pigeon purchased and the reference selection breading charts dating back to 1900 which were utilized in this selection process in order to maintain the genes and will be supplied on a CD disk.

The source pairs were selected from federation winning and producing parents, siblings and progeny of the thirty pound pair (1952) of Noel Randall being from the line bred grandchildren of Uncle Sam including the Townsville federation winner at 700 miles, the Windorah Federation winner at 700 miles, the Bowen Federation winner at 600 miles, the Mackay Federation winner at 500 miles, the Golbourne Federation winner at 550 miles and of course the 5th Mackay Smash Cock. The pimples out-cross was never allowed to be part of this line.

The O'Toole line in this offering is founded on their three Mackay (500 mile) federation winners , the "Townsville winner'" (700 miles) and nine sons and daughters of the Golden pair 1644x2002.

These two separate lines have been carefully and separately maintained to type and documented and although extremely inbred and line bred what is being offered have been selected to maintained size and vigor. They have received very little medicines only maintaining a worming program.

The birds will be auctioned in lots of 10 at a time, initially being 4 cocks and 6 hens from May 2011.

The pigeons on offer are too inbred to race and require a well performed middle distance 400-500 mile line bred out-cross. The Gabby appear to be an ideal type being similar in body confirmation as the Uncle Sam . The Uncle Sam eyes and extreme distance stamina and night flying genes will complete these defects in the Gabby.

The birds offered for sale will be brothers and sisters to core pigeons which will be retained to maintain and preserve the Uncle Sam Line.
